I’ve Fallen Down Yet Another Social Media Black Hole

I act like I don’t waste half of my life on Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Circles … but I in fact do. Honestly, if you are under the age of like 45 and say you don’t, you are a dirty liar. Sometimes I’m on Facebook and realize that a ridiculously large chunk of time has passed that I can’t help but start shaking my fist violently and exclaim to myself, “DAMN YOU, ZUCKERBERG … give me back the hours I’ve wasted!”

So I totally thought I was finished with adopting social media channels when my sister introduced me to the new forbidden fruit: Pinterest. At first I was standoffish, refusing to download the App to my phone … just like I was with Twitter, Foursquare and LinkedIn at first. But of course, out of boredom, I succumbed to the luring temptress known as Pinterest … and … it … RULES. Literally, when I’m in line at the grocery store, waiting for a train, anything that involves down time … I’m on my iPhone pinning. It is a freaking deliciously addictive disease.

From fashion to beauty to fitness to art to food to architecture, this is like the most amazing place to explain who you are and what you like in life through the pinning of some really amazing pictures. Please excuse me if I sound like that 90-year-old woman who says to their grandchildren, “hey … are you kids on the Face Space … I hear it is pretty cool,” because I have a feeling I’m totally late to the Pinterest party … but if you aren’t on it, get on it. Immediately. In fact, I will send you an invite if you ask nicely!

Of course I made a Pinterest account for Life Sucks In A Strapless Bra … so make sure to follow me, friend me, pin me, retweet me … I don’t know the proper Pinterest lingo yet, clearly. My screen name or username or handle, whatever you kids are calling it these days, is LSIASB (Life Sucks In A Strapless Bra was apparently too long … jerks.)

I’m not one of those people who like to have about 50 boards of my inspiration, and what I hate, and what I like, and my style, and the foods I eat, and the wall of just my favorite color. I strictly have what I like to literally call my  “Wall of Awesome.” So I hope you enjoy the things that inspire me and that I find beautiful as I will pin and comment on things that Life Sucks In A Strapless Bra is all about. Style ideas, outfits we would die for, trends etc … it will all be pinned!

Can’t wait to hang out with you guys at this new fashion forward social media scene. Now if you will excuse me I have precious hours of my life to waste pinning shit.

No Longer Shout “I Love You” From Rooftops …

… do it via social media!

Synonymous with “l-o-v-e” is that little blue box that comes wrapped in that perfect white ribbon … Tiffany. I mean I personally would swoon just to be handed that miniature box of joy … but I suppose a generous rock in a box wouldn’t be too shabby either.

You always hear of the grandiose engagement stories from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friends dog walkers sister whose boyfriend took her to the most romantic place one could EVER imagine, hired Barry White to serenade them and popped the question as he got down on one knee and … OH MY GOD … Jacob the Jeweler happened to be there as well for her to pick out her own custom diamond as Oprah poured them champagne. And all of this sends women into a spiral of anger, envy and lust to have a story JUST like that. I mean for crying out loud, where is the reality in all of this people?

Luckily, in an effort to stop women from indulging in these third-party, elaborately exaggerated love stories which lead ladies to want to rip their hair out in jealousy, Tiffany has now created an application for the iPhone, as well as a new website called WhatMakesLoveTrue.com that is filled with real life stories of ACTUAL couples and their road to becoming a “we.” And if your friends and family are sick of you updating you status on Facebook and Tweeting and Google Plus-ing (by the way, what the hell are we calling this?) about your relationship, and making cheesy wedding websites, this is the social stream to show the world how fantastic you both are and to potentially inspire others.

In true Tiffany fashion, this website is pure class and sophistication, not like an eHarmony commercial with couples swinging each other around and awkwardly holding one another with “Everlasting Love” playing in the background. I have to say my most favorite part of this website is the black and white photography. It has such a lovely way of capturing these couples and makes it all so relatable and even sincere. Like hey, this makes me not sick to my stomach, I actually respect these people and their story really touches me.

And even though movies and TV have really beaten this concept to death and have made it seem so unobtainable … New York City might be one of the most romantic places in the world, and on WhatMakesLoveTrue.com, it really conveys this message. Even if you are single, you can have a love affair with this city, the architecture, the parks, the fashion, the art, the disgusting subways. There is a love there for everyone. It truly is one of my most favorite places on Earth, right now as I am having a love affair from afar, and if you are wondering where your love affair with New York City can start, this site really gives some great options from cocktails to great views. Ahh New York … there is truly nothing else in this world like it.

So if you need inspiration to drop the “I Love You” or “Will You Marry Me,” bomb, are a hopeless romantic who loves to “ooooh” and “awww” over things of this nature, or just need to re-ignite a flame from the past that may have blown out … you need to download this App or hop on this website. It truly is a classy way for couples and non-couples to socially share their love.

Even if you don’t know what “love” is, have lost faith in it, or just need to believe in it again … I promise you, this site does not bite.
